An internal investigation at Merrill (initiated by a vicious evil temp) disclosed to Merrill that certain members of "THAT GANG OF BLACK WOMEN" working in their word processng center (1) had a fraud scheme going involving car vouchers; (2) that some of THOSE WOMEN were billing time or approving the billing of time by people who weren't even in the building during the times billed; (3) that there was a permanent employee of a competitor working in Merrill's word processing center; and that, in general, (4) THOSE WOMEN were out of control.
Now normally it might not be such a big deal to just fire a bunch of Butt Ugly Black Women, but Merrill at the time had a very high profile discrimination law suit against it by it's female bankers. So, instead of just firing the losers in it's word processing center (and risking a class action lawsuit) Merrill figured out that it could OUTSOURCE it's wp center to Pitney Bowes (and that if those ugly women sued, there would be little or no damages since they still had jobs).
Bottom line, Merrill unloaded a lot of useless, unwanted, unloved ugly shit on Pitney Bowes.
Now Pitney Bowes is trying to use that useless, unwanted, unloved ugly shit to try and convince other companies that it is a super duper manager of word processing centers. I think not.
