The basic problem with a Fortune 50/100/500 company engaging in the business of getting word processing centers outsourced to it is that any Fortune 50/100/500 company is likely to be so top heavy with old lardass white guys, that the only way they could possibly make any money would be to hire butt ugly minorities or undocumented aliens at wages far below the industry standard. Enter Tiger Info. Tiger Info, according to rumor, has re-entered the outsourcing arena, getting Morgan Stanley's Center outsourced to it. Tiger has been in the temping business in NYC long enough to know almost as much about it as I do. Tiger, like every other temp agency in NYC making money, HAS to be smart enough to know that there is only so far one can go in NYC with a gang of butt ugly minorities as workers. Tiger could actually make a dent in the NYC market as an "Outsourcer". And now that Tiger is getting into Outsouring, it seems only a matter of time before the wannabe famous agencies (like Custom and Wall Street Services) decide that they can get their names in business magazines by claiming that they also are outsourcers. HOWEVER, nobody can beat an employee-owned LLC, nobody. The Pitney Bowes companies are too top heavy to be competitive. AND, while the temp agencies can undercut the Pitneys, temp agencies generally don't get out of bed for less than a 50% mark-up. Historically, PRICE was never a factor in any company (especially any investment bank) deciding what to do with its Word Processing Center. Now that the IBanks are looking to save money, maybe PRICE will become a factor. Let the Ho-ing begin! |
