There was this individual at CSFB that appeared some years after I had been temping at First Boston to manage temps. Now the woman had this job and from what I could tell she had no degree, no skills and no visible talent of any kind. It wasn't until I sued the woman and her attorney answered the complaint that I learned the woman's title was "Assistant Vice President". Can you believe this? Assistant Vice President? She may actually have the title Vice President by now.
Adebayo Ogunlesi, the new head of the investment banking group at First Boston, has announced plans for a new round of job cuts focusing on senior executive positions.
Mr. Ogunlesi, who was appointed to run the investment banking group last week, told a gathering of 300 employees that Credit Suisse First Boston had 25 percent to 50 percent more senior managers than comparable firms on Wall Street and that cuts would be "swift and severe," the executives said. |
